The story had lots of red herrings and I will admit to not knowing who was behind all the murders until the end. I also appreciated that the true detective was not a dolt but equally intelligent. I enjoyed watching Heath become a detective as a way to save himself. But Lenox is barely at his uncle’s house for Christmas when his uncle’s fiancé is shot dead and he’s set up to take the fall. The story starts when a dead fat man is found at the entrance of Major Heathcliff Lenox’s house.

But it’s also got a nice element of humor thrown in. It’s been described as a mix of Downton Abbey and Agatha Christie and it’s an apt description. I needed a bit of a breather from listening to deep books.
